We went for a meal yesterday at Coal in Cabot Circus, we have been there twice before and the food was fantastic, service was good and we never had to wait too long for food. However Fathers Day was completely different, we waited 30mins+ for starters and Noahs food, he was hungry big time as were we. Then we had that which was nice, but had to wait at least 40mins for the mains which never arrived. So both my dad and I decided to go and spend my money elsewhere. We complained about the wait and the lack of service, infact I think we only saw the waiter twice and he seemed to keep away from our table. I don't think it would have been so bad if the Assistant Manager (who was a nice bloke) made sure he sorted everything out and maybe made our food priority. He didn't and that just pissed us off further, at that point we just said we were going and not paying for anything, apart from a few drinks.
We then made our way over to Frankie & Bennys and luckily both dad and I had our lunches free because of their offer, Fathers Eat Free....... Bargain. So we sat down, ordered food and had a dam good meal and pudding. They even gave me a Tiramisu to take home as a good will gesture and that really was the icing on the cake, great service and great food. RECOMMENDED!!!!!
One thing I did forget is that the Assistant Manager gave my Dad a bottle of Champagne, which was at least a peace offering. I think deep down I will go to Coal again but I will be very reluctant.
My fantasy football team is doing well, currently 3rd and fingers crossed will move up a notch. If not I am happy to be 3rd considering I know Jack about football.......
This is the squad ready for today, I lost 15 points by making substitutions but fingers crossed the four I swapped will get more.
Today I am really not sure what to do, I was looking forward to spending some time with Noah and Catherine. However lots of housework to do because it has been left not done for quite a while. Not that its Cats fault, I haven't cleaned up either. So I think my day may involve that and maybe a sneaky beer.....
When I look around the house however I feel like it will take days to clean up, probably because we don't tidy up that often. Both a wee bit lazy!!!
My 'brother' if you could call him that, really is getting on my tits. He doesn't give a shit about anyone and doesn't even respond to txt messages. Oh well he will need something at one point and we might not be around to help.
Right I'm off to get some housework done.
